My Thoughts on Prayer
I had a thought out of Daniel 9:20 in prayer on Monday that I want to pass on. Sometimes when you are in prayer by yourself it can be challenging to pray outloud for very long. It is a challenge generally because our own thoughts and understanding jump up and begin to question the sanity of talking outloud to someone we cannot see.
What I have found is, that by persisting through that awkward stage of prayer, that I will begin to move into the spiritual realm of prayer that has a stronger sense of His presence and the hearing of the voice of the Holy Spirit as well as a clearer direction in my prayer time. I believe it has to do with you setting the atmosphere around you with your voice, as opposed to just sitting there and trying to weed through the multitude of thoughts you have when we sit in silence.
All these words in the Hebrew indicating that Daniel was verbalizing his prayer when the angel broke in. Daniel 9:20 "Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God," Vs. 21 "As I was praying, Gabriel, whom I had seen in the earlier vision, came swiftly to me at the time of the evening sacrifice." Vs. 23 "The moment you began praying, a command was given. And now I am here to tell you what it was, for you are very precious to God. Listen carefully so that you can understand the meaning of your vision."
It is time like never before to pray. God really does have a Better Hope for a Better Future in mind for his people...... After all "nothing is impossible for Him".
