My Thoughts on Prayer

I had a thought out of Daniel 9:20 in prayer on Monday that I want to pass on. Sometimes when you are in prayer by yourself it can be challenging to pray outloud for very long. It is a challenge generally because our own thoughts and understanding jump up and begin to question the sanity of talking outloud to someone we cannot see.

What I have found is, that by persisting through that awkward stage of prayer, that I will begin to move into the spiritual realm of prayer that has a stronger sense of His presence and the hearing of the voice of the Holy Spirit as well as a clearer direction in my prayer time. I believe it has to do with you setting the atmosphere around you with your voice, as opposed to just sitting there and trying to weed through the multitude of thoughts you have when we sit in silence.

All these words in the Hebrew indicating that Daniel was verbalizing his prayer when the angel broke in.  Daniel 9:20  "Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God," Vs. 21 "As I was praying, Gabriel, whom I had seen in the earlier vision, came swiftly to me at the time of the evening sacrifice." Vs. 23 "The moment you began prayinga command was given. And now I am here to tell you what it was, for you are very precious to God. Listen carefully so that you can understand the meaning of your vision."

It is time like never before to pray. God really does have a Better Hope for a Better Future in mind for his people...... After all "nothing is impossible for Him".

Intentional Living

Don't be ridiculous...... but please consider being irrational today.
This morning I have a rather "Irrational" challenge for you to ponder.
Do we "lose our mind" or "use our mind"?
Faith  is activated through hearing the Word. Hearing the Word comes through the mind but has to get to the spirit. This is where the challenge comes in. The bible says that the natural man (mind) does not understand the things of the spirit. So in this respect I have to make sure I allow the word to get past the thoughts that will try to counter the mind and will of of God that comes through His Word. 1 Corinthians 2:14
One way to do this is to take a couple scriptures that address the request you have and read them out loud and then meditate or think on them until you sense your mind lets them through to your spirit.
Below are a couple scriptures I have been meditating on and asking God to break down any resistance or rationalizing that may be in me that I can allow the Holy Spirit to help me with.
Matthew 13:53-58 gives us an illustration of how we can rationalize and resist the power of God working in and through us.
Today, try asking God to speak to your spirit about an area that you need a miracle in.
Below are a few "Irrational" scriptures that I have been letting soak in recently.
Irrational Faith = John 11:22 "But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You."
Irrational Confidence = 1John 5:14 And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.
Irrational Challenge = John 14:12-14 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.  And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.  You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
Irrational Fruit =  John 15:7-8 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desireand it shall be done for you.   "By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
I trust you will find one thing that helps you on your journey of "Intentional Living" in faith. Hebrews 11:1
Lord, help us to always be "believing believers".
Have an awesome and blessed day!
